I’ve been talking about adding some wallpaper to our entryway for a little while now, especially after we finished the board and batten wall, it just felt like it needed something! I had been hesitating because I didn’t want to spend a ton of $$$ on wallpaper–and I was convinced they were allso. much. money. Thankfully I was wrong and I found quite a few that I love with a pretty affordable price tag from Magnolia Home!! I linked to ours and rounded up a few of my other favorites at the end. :)

On the left is how our entry looked when we first moved in and on the right is how it looked for the past 2 years!

We started by taking everything off of the wall and pulling the screws out. Jason prepped the wall by knocking down any bumps and making sure it was clean and smooth. Then he measured the height for cutting the wallpaper to length.

Roll out the wallpaper and add eight inches to your measurement, mark, and cut. This will give you an extra four inches on top and bottom to trim off the wall afterward.

This wallpaper is pre-pasted which makes it pretty convenient to put up (and to take down)! To active the paste, lay the wallpaper pattern side down over a drop cloth and wet the back evenly with a spray bottle full of water. Then loosely fold the ends towards each other and let sit for 2-3 minutes.

Now it's ready to hang! Pick up the wallpaper (paying special attention to which way the pattern goes) and line it up evenly at the ceiling, leaving a few inches of overhang. Make sure it's lined up with the corner as well and smooth it out in a diagonal fashion. Jason used a drywall taping knife (covered in tape so it wouldn't scratch the paper) to do so and thought it worked great!

Once the wallpaper is in place, trim the excess at the baseboard and ceiling with a razor knife. Then repeat the process to cover your whole wall as needed! We only needed two strips since our entryway is pretty small.

I ended up having quite a bit of wallpaper left over and I'm trying to figure out where else in our house I can put it! I just love it so much! What do you guys think? Are you a fan of the wallpaper trend?

Here are a few of my favorites from the Magnolia Home line! The price is so great for such a quality product.
